  • I own both the YAMAHA NS6490’S, as well as the BIC DV62Si speakers. The Yamahas are VERY BRIGHT, right out of the box. After a month or so of use, they mellow, some, but still top-heavy. The VIC speakers however, sound very good from the start. Although I was Leary of them only having a 6-1/2″ woofer, and being 2 way, whereas the YAMAHA has an 8″ and is 3 way. The INC actually produces not only more bass, but cleaner as well. Although the BOX requires more power to push, even though they are vented, whereas the YAMAHA is a sealed enclosure. In my opinion, the BIC’S have a much better, more natural, flatter response than the Yamaha’s. However, the fit and finish of the BIC’ S is not as clean as YAMAHA’S.
